at right. Be sure to check which internet browser
you are using

FIREWALL (Can't see survey, or get a "404 Error" screen)

If you are behind a firewall that blocks access to all traffic except for certain domains, your network administrator must grant access to www.surveymonkey.com. In order for the site to function correctly, the administrators of that network will have to either allow all sub domains of surveymonkey.com or explicitly add:

  • surveymonkey.com
  • images.surveymonkey.com
  • styles.surveymonkey.com
  • scripts.surveymonkey.com
  • secure.surveymonkey.com
  • www.surveymonkey.com
  • smonkey.surveymonkey.com

ENABLING COOKIES

To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version that you are using:

Mozilla Firefox 2.0

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Options."
  3. Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
  4. Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies."
  5. Click "OK" to save changes.

Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release
and earlier)

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Options."
  3. Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
  4. Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies."
  5. Click "OK" to save changes.

 

Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0

  1. Select "Preferences" from the
  2. Edit menu.
  3. Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand.
  4. Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
  5. Select "Enable all cookies."
  6. Click "OK."

Internet Explorer 7.0

  1. In the Menu bar, select: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab. The Privacy Settings box appears.
  2. Drag the slider down to Accept All Cookies.
  3. Click OK to close Internet options.
  4. Close all Web browsers.
  5. Open a new browser.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

  1. Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  2. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  3. Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings."
  4. Click "OK."

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
  2. Click on the "Security" tab.
  3. Click the "Custom Level" button.
  4. Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.

To enable:

  1. Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable."
  2. Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable."
  3. Click "OK."

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. Select "Internet Options" from the View menu.
  2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Scroll down to find "Cookies" within the "Security" section.
  4. To enable:
    Select "Always accept cookies."
  5. Click "OK."

Netscape Communicator 4.x.

  1. Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
  2. Find the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category.
  3. To enable:
    Select "Accept all cookies" (or "Enable all cookies").
  4. Click "OK."

Safari

  1. Click on the Safari-menu in Safari
  2. Click on the Preferences... item in the menu - a new window opens
  3. Click on the Security icon near the top of the window.
  4. Under Accept Cookies the Always or Only from sites you navigate to must be selected
  5. Save changes by clicking Ok and go to one of the configuration pages again

Google Chrome

  1. Open your Google Chrome browser.
  2. Below the X button, click the Tools menu, and then click Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Security section, click the Cookie Settings drop-down menu, and then click Allow all cookies.
  5. Click the Close button.

ENABLING JAVASCRIPT

Some pages of the survey may not appear correctly or will not function properly if the browser does not have JavaScript enabled,
or does not support JavaScript capability.
First, you will need to determine what browser version you are using. Click on the browser's Help menu from the tool bar and choose the last item labeled "About [browser name]...".
Macintosh users should go to the application name menu or the Apple menu and select the first item labeled "About [browser name]...".

Mozilla Firefox 1.5 & 2.0

  1. Choose Tools from the Menu bar, then Options.
  2. In the Options dialogue box, select the Content icon and make sure both the Enable JavaScript and Enable Java check boxes are selected
  3. Click the Ok button.

Mozilla Firefox (1.X)

  1. Choose Tools from the Menu bar, then Options.
  2. Select the Web Features icon and make sure the Enable Java check box is selected. 

 

Firefox 0.9.X

  1. Select Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Web Features icon.
  3. Check "Enable JavaScript."
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Reload.

Internet Explorer 5.0 and above

  1. From the browser's Tools menu select "Internet Options."
  2. Click on the Security tab. - Make sure the "Internet" icon is selected (it looks like a world globe).
  3. Select the "Custom Level..." button.
    Scroll down the Settings list to the Scripting item. (You may need to double-click on icons to expand lists.)
  4. Under the "Active scripting" item, choose the Enable radio button.
  5. Select OK and Yes to confirm and close the Security Settings dialog box, then OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.
  6. Refresh the current page.

Internet Explorer 6.0

  1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu.
  2. Choose 'Internet Options.'
  3. Click on the 'Security' tab. 
  4. Click on 'Custom Level.'
  5. Scroll down until you see section labeled 'Scripting.'
  6. Under 'Active Scripting', select 'Enable' and click OK.

Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. Select Internet Options from the View menu.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Scroll down to locate Scripting.
  6. Click Enable for Active Scripting.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Reload.

 

Internet Explorer 5.x - (Mac OS X)

  1. Select Preferences from the Explorer menu.
  2. Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
  3. Click Web Content.
  4. Under Active Content check Enable Scripting.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Refresh.

Internet Explorer - (Mac OS 9)

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
  3. Click Web Content.
  4. Under Active Content check Enable Scripting.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Refresh.

Safari - (Mac OS X)

  1. Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript.
  4. Close the window.
  5. Click Reload.

Enable Netscape 7.x

  1. From the browser's Edit menu select "Preferences."
  2. Within the Category pick list, expand the Advanced item by clicking on the triangle twisty.
  3. Next, select the sub item labeled Scripts & Plug-ins.
  4. Within the Scripts & Plug-ins window, check "Navigator" under the Enable JavaScript for grouping. In the Allow Scripts to pane, make sure items regarding cookies are checked.
  5. Push the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box.
  6. Reload the current page.

Enable Netscape 6.x

  1. From the browser's Edit menu select "Preferences."
  2. Within the Category pick list, select the word Advanced.
  3. Check the box labeled Enable JavaScript for Navigator and push the OK button to close the Preferences dialog box.
  4. Reload the current page.

Netscape 4.X:

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Check Enable JavaScript.
  4. Check Enable style sheets
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Reload.

 

AOL 7.0 and above

  1. Select Preferences from the Settings menu.
  2. Click Internet Properties (WWW) under Organization.
  3. Click the Security tab.
    Check the Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to locate Scripting.
  5. For Active Scripting click Enable.
  6. Click OK, and then OK again to close all dialogs.
  7. Close the Preferences window, and then reload the page.
